Work at I-10 and Sunland Park involves improvements that can be seen today, mostly outside of traffic, allowing for I-10 access to be maintained with minimal changes to current conditions.
Looking forward to 2017, the main portions of the project will be initiated and will extend well into 2018. Those main portions include I-10 and Sunland Park. Although it is too early in project development to provide an exact timeline for this work, we can report that early stage work at this location is already underway.
The first major impact that you’ll see in 2017 will involve the removal of the existing westbound Sunland Park Exit Ramp. Before removing that exit ramp, GO 10
will construct a temporary exit ramp in its place, allowing for access to be maintained at all times to the mall and other retail centers.
Work on the Sunland Park Boulevard direct connector (aka flyover overpass) to I-10 East is currently targeted for 2018. That date is subject to change
; but, it gives a general idea of GO 10
Complete closures of I-10 will occur when work must take place directly over I-10. Complete closures of I-10 will be advertised with a minimum two-week notice. Closures are posted each week at http://www.go10elpaso.com/en/traffic-construction-updates.html
